The Fellowship of Australian Writers Queensland, or FAWQ, is and always has been a significant force in Queensland’s cultural life. It was at the forefront of lobbying for a Cultural Centre in Brisbane, worked tirelessly to establish the Queensland Writers Centre and was closely involved in the  planning and conduct of the annual Writers Convention, which evolved into the Warana Writers Week and is now the Brisbane Writers Festival.

Next Meeting 25th February at 2pm in the Theatrette at Brisbane Square Library George St

Our full agenda can be found on our Events & Meetings page.

This year marks Fellowship of Australian Writers – Queensland’s  95 years of writing – their monthly magazine, ‘SCOPE‘, celebrates 60 years of publication.

To celebrate FAWQ launched an anthology,  A Lifetime of Words at Gallery 88, at Redcliffe on the 26th November (see Fawq Writers Facebook page for more information)

The anthology features the winners of the FAWQ Literary Awards 2016 and submissions from our very talented members.  Please visit our store if you would like to purchase a copy.
